Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska

Sarah Waldman is the Vice President, Ethical Practices, Corporate Compliance Officer and Secretary with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska (BCBSNE). She is responsible for all aspects of corporate compliance, privacy, audit, and security and the development of initiatives designed to maintain an ethical culture. As Secretary of the BCBSNE board of directors, she provides counsel to BCBSNE's board and committees and assists with the implementation of best practice governance processes. A 1997 graduate of Creighton University Law School, Ms. Waldman has held various positions at BCBSNE, including Staff Attorney and Vice President, Human Resources. Ms. Waldman is a member of the Greater Omaha Business Ethics Alliance Governing Board. She also is a member of the Institute for Career Advancement Needs (ICAN) board of directors and serving as its Secretary in 2008 and Chairman in 2009. In addition, she served as Co-Chair of the 2007 ICAN Women’s Leadership Conference. She is a member of the University of Nebraska at Omaha Alumni Association board and serves as a mentor through the Teammates mentoring program. She was a member of Leadership Omaha Class 29 and a 2007 recipient of the Midland's Business Journal's 40 Under 40 Award. She is a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association, Omaha Bar Association and Society for Human Resource Management. Ms. Waldman is married to Tom Waldman, Assistant Vice President and Associate Counsel at Lincoln Financial Group and has two daughters, Katie (9) and Annie (6).
