"Best Places to Work for the Advancement of Women" Award

Objective:
Created in 2010 to recognize a local company that promotes the advancement of women in the workplace.
Purpose:
- Expand knowledge of local company leaders in the advancement of women
- Raise awareness of the following issue in the Omaha business community: Nebraska women participate in the labor force at a rate of over 67%, ranking 3rd in the U.S. for work force participation, 41st for earnings and 49th for managerial and professional positions. Additionally, Nebraska ranks 36th in the nation for women's business ownership. Lastly, as of 2007, women in Nebraska with a bachelor’s degree earned only 66% of the amount that men with a bachelor’s were paid. Nebraska has an educated workforce of women with high overall participation but seemingly minimal opportunity for advancement.

- Set the bar higher for the advancement of women by local companies
